Hi. I’m Anna. I write romance featuring characters who heavily depend on coffee and use their superior language skills to compose achingly beautiful love letters and the occasional witty text.

As a writer, reader, teacher, and mother of tiny people who are learning how to communicate, words are my everything. I am fascinated by the way language evolves and the function of language in establishing and maintaining culture. I am awed by so many writers I admire who can take the same set of words to which I am privy and sit down and assemble, say, A Farewell to Arms, or the Harry Potter series, or The Book Thief. Also on the list of books I’m always willing to reread: Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Kate Chopin’s The Awakening, and Paullina Simons’s The Bronze Horseman.

As the mother of two young kids, I am particularly drawn to crafting carefree heroines who are ten years younger than I am and wear lipstick far more frequently than I do.

I lead a blessed life. I am fortunate to be able to explore my desire to write. I was inspired to write my first novel because it is a book I wanted to read. I was also inspired by Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent. I drink a lot of coffee. I adore my book club, the Gilmore Girls, Frasier reruns, and the Oxford Comma.
